The Wedding Photographer

This is a special post, just for Henk and Nicole. I bought this book today and spent some time leaning cool effects with Elements. I am now ready to do your wedding!!!

Birthday Party

With the fire bans lifted, it was time for the yearly Birthday Party.

And the Tree that ended the evening.

After looking at these photos, I realized they were all taken with the 18-70 kit lens. I had decided to do the whole evening with this lens to see how they would turn out. There's was something not quite right about the photos with people and I couldn't put my finger on it. Now I realize it was the kit lens. Goodbye kit lens, Sigma 105, when will you be returned to me?

I couldn't stay away from macros.

After seeing this copper sunflower in the garden today, I could no longer stay away from using Henk's macro lens.

Today's colour: Pink

Henk has been kind enough to lend me his macro lens while mine is in the hospital. Not wanting to use it too much before the wedding (don't want to break his too) I thought I would start using my 18-70mm kit lens to see what it can do. These peonies are from the garden.

I am sad.

My macro lens has broken and is in for repairs. I think I am nothing without my macro lens. I have discovered that I am a macro person.
